From Shop Floors to Software Innovation
THE FOUNDATION
The Apex Pawn software story began long before our code was ever written. In 1992, our founder, Shane Porter, began his career in Tulsa, Oklahoma, learning the pawnbroking industry from the ground up under the mentorship of some of the most respected pioneers in the business. After years of managing high-volume locations, mastering the complexities of pawn operations, and dealing with clunky, outdated legacy systems, Shane knew shop owners deserved something better.
In 1995, Shane established his own operations, which laid the groundwork for Apex. His vision for the software was simple: take the strict professional and compliance standards required of large-scale operations and deliver them through a clean, intuitive, and user-friendly digital platform built by real pawnbrokers, for real pawnbrokers.
