Shane Porter
Having witnessed the evolution of pawn software firsthand, Shane has always sought better tools for pawnbrokers.
Shane Porter is the founder and president of Porter’s Pawn. Shane began his career as a pawnbroker in 1992 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he was recruited by Jack Daugherty, founder of Cash America Pawn. Starting as a manager trainee, Shane quickly advanced to assistant manager and then store manager in less than a year, eventually managing the largest Cash America location in Tulsa and working in five different locations across the city.
In 1995, Shane returned to his home town of Mountain Home, Arkansas, and established Porter’s Pawn. Today, after more than 30 years in business, Shane operates two Porter’s Pawn locations, run hand-in-hand with his wife Jacqueline and his brother-in-law Patrick.
Who

More than just a successful business, Porter’s Pawn is the birthplace of Apex—where the idea was conceived, developed, and rigorously tested to meet the real-world needs of pawnbrokers. Their family team brings over 50 years of expertise to the company: Jacqueline, a GIA and AJP certified professional, oversees the jewelry department, which boasts a full-time jeweler and watchmaker on staff. Patrick serves as the operations manager, leading loan operations and online sales with precision.

Jackson Bullard
He fuses cutting-edge software development principles with first-hand knowledge of the needs of pawnbrokers across the country.
Jackson Bullard is the technical co-founder of Apex, working alongside his stepdad, Shane. Growing up working in Porter’s Pawn has armed him with the industry knowledge required to build Apex from the ground up. In that time, he has experienced first-hand the limitations of three different pawn software platforms.
Jackson graduated with honors from the University of Arkansas at the top of his class as the department of Computer Science’s Outstanding Senior. Now, alongside his brother Harrison, he fuses cutting-edge software development principles with first-hand knowledge of the needs of pawnbrokers across the country.
